Are you looking for a fun day out whilst encourage the kids to eat more fruit?  What better way to encourage them than to spend a day picking fruit?

The best thing is there is no age limit… from tot to teen (and older).  What’s not to like?

Where to go?

Poynton Fruit Farm

The farm opens mid-June and there is free entry.

Pick Your Own:

Strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, black and red currants and rhubarb (when available).

Opening Hours:

Wednesday 1pm – 6pm
Saturday & Sunday 10am – 2pm

Kenyon Hall Farm

The farm is open 7 days a week throughout the year.  Fruit is available from mid-late June and the farm is free to enter with free parking, just pay for the fruit you pick (new deposit system now running).

Pick Your Own:

Strawberries (indoor and outdoor), gooseberries, dessert gooseberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, raspberries, tayberries, blackberries, broad beans, garden peas, mangetout and sugar snap peas in the summer months.

There is also a farm shop, cafe, outdoor play area (including swings, slides, zip line and pedal tractors) and a plant centre so you can make a full day of it if you wish.

Claremont Farm

There are plenty of things to do at Claremont Farm including a farm shop and cafe that is open all year round.  They also hold cookery workshops, shows and events, holistic therapies, education and welly walks and bushcraft if you fancy making even more of your day.  They also offer tractor rides on the weekends.

Fruit is available to pick mid-June until the end of July.

Pick Your Own:

Strawberries, green gooseberries, red gooseberries, golden gooseberries, raspberries, tayberries, redcurrants and blackcurrants.

The Pick Your Own fields are situated just off the Drayton Motors roundabout by Clatterbridge Hospital (follow the signs).  Please note cards are not accepted in the PYO fields.

Leapers Rock Orchard

Leapers Rock Orchard is free entry and you only pay for what you pick.  Their season will start mid-June.

Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, damsons, french beans, apricots, plums, cherries and apples.

Woore Fruit Farm

The farm has a tea room and a shop selling cider, fresh apple juice, ice cream etc.

Pick Your Own:

Strawberries, raspberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, apples, plums, gooseberries, tayberries, apples and plums. They also have onions, beetroot, carrots, garlic, courgettes and potatoes.
