Pumpkin Festival

This weekend was the amazing Cockfields Farm Pumpkin Festival!

As usual, the day was packed full of entertainment, in fact, we were given a checklist of the day’s activities when we got there to make sure we didn’t miss anything!

Pumpkin Picking

We headed straight for the Pumpkin Picking as it was the first time we had ever done this together and the kids were excited.

There were plenty to choose from so it took us quite some time to pick the ones we wanted.

Pumpkin Carving

Once the pumpkins were picked, we headed straight to Pumpkin Carving Cave where there were templates to use to draw faces on the pumpkins, craft knives to cut the design out and scoops to remove the centres.  It was great to see the kids get stuck in, without anyone (me!) having to worry about the mess.

Wand Making

We visited the hut to make wands, and Halloween masks, which my little one loved.

Haunted Hay Barn

The Haunted Hay Barn had lots of performances that had lovely Halloween Family Shows on at regular intervals throughout the day.  Everyone was encouraged to join in the fun, and sing along to songs.

Animal Encounters

The Farm is home to lots of lovely animals, including: –

  • rabbits
  • guinea pigs
  • chicks
  • goats
  • llamas
  • reindeer
  • cows
  • owls
  • snakes
  • tortoise
  • lizards
  • chameleon

As well as feeding the animals, there are regular ‘Meet the Reptiles’ and ‘Meet the Animal’ sessions so everyone can meet and hold lots of the animals, including: –

  • Brush the bunnies
  • Cuddle the guinea pigs
  • Meet the baby chicks
  • Bath a tortoise
  • Hold the lizards, snakes and creepy crawlies

There is so much going on at the farm, the whole family will be entertained.  They think about every small detail, and make sure that their special events are perfectly organised.

Christmas Experience

The next event at the Farm is their Christmas Experience, which is available to book now.  This is ‘the’ best Christmas event so if you’re only going to one, make sure it’s this one!

The Christmas Experience includes a visit to the Elves Workshop to build your own bear, visit the Elves Sweet Shop, meet Mrs Claus and decorate Gingerbread men, before finally meeting the man himself!

Tickets are limited so don’t miss out!
