Prestwich Arts Festival returns for 2019 with a whole host of events to enjoy!

The event will run from Friday 26th – Sunday 29th September will a huge array of events and activities for the whole family to enjoy!

Saturday 28th September

The Sleeping Dragon Of Prestwich

Join Professor Jigget on a dangerous adventure to wake the town’s sleeping dragon.  How will the dragon react?  Will it set fire to the town?  Will it eat all the residents?

This wonderful family experience is delivered by Yan Tan Tethera.

Art In The Park

Bring the whole family along for this free celebration of art, creativity and imagination!

Fun will include:

  • Create Origami artwork
  • Pop-Up Adventure Play returns allowing youngsters imaginations to run wild!
  • Take a crash course craft activity
  • Food vendors available

Best In Crime

If you love nothing more than a good murder mystery then this could be just for you.  Don your fancy dress, and prepare for an evening of mystery, frivolity and laughter, solving crimes compered by local writer Adam Farrer.

Suitable for age 18+

Sunday 29th September

Lantern & Drumming Workshops

Global Grooves and Elk Drumming will be delivering workshops throughout the day, creating lanterns to celebrate the creative Prestwich community.

The workshops will be a combination of music and crafts, suitable for all ages and abilities, culminating in a parade with the lanterns and drums at dusk.

Imagine That!

Come along to the children’s literature competition featuring Prestwich’s very own, very talented, Tony Walsh!

All entrants into the competition are invited to this special event where Tony Walsh will be ensuring the awards ceremony proceeds in style with his magical way with words.

There will be a chance for questions, and book signings, after the event.

Time: 1-3pm

Draw The Line In P-Town

Gang of Five are bringing their alternative life drawing and infinity gallery to Prestwich Arts Festival.  Join them for a day of inks and drinks with models based on Prestwich and Manchester’s famous icons.

There will be two sessions at 1pm and 3pm. Booking is required, although it is a free event.
