Picking Your Own Fruit

Love fruit and want to encourage your little ones to eat more?

What better way to spend a day with the kids?  Getting some fresh air (and getting them away from the electronics) and spending quality time picking your own fruit?  The best thing is there is no age limit… from tot to teen (and older).  What’s not to like?

Not only that – we’ve included some great ideas below for things to make with your picked fruit.

Poynton Fruit Farm

The farm opens mid-June and there is free entry.

Pick Your Own:

Strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, black and red currants and rhubarb (when in season).

Kenyon Hall Farm

The farm is open 7 days a week throughout the year.  Fruit is available from late June and the farm is free to enter with free parking, just pay for the fruit you pick.

Pick Your Own:

Strawberries, gooseberries, dessert gooseberries, redcurrants, whitecurrants, blackcurrants, raspberries, tayberries, blackberries in the summer months.

There is also a cafe, play area (including swings, slides, zip line and pedal tractors) and a plant centre so you can make a full day of it if you wish.

Claremont Farm

Claremont Farm has a farm shop and cafe that is open all year round.  Fruit is available to pick mid-June.

The farm also has Creative Writing Summer Schools, Inflatable Fun Days, Holistic Therapies, Yoga, Afternoon Tea, Wild Foraging Experiences and Outdoor Theatres if you fancy making even more of your day.

Strawberries, Green Gooseberries, Red Gooseberries, Golden Gooseberries, Raspberries, Tayberries, Redcurrants, Blackcurrants

The Pick Your Own fields are situated just off the Drayton Motors roundabout by Clatterbridge Hospital (follow the signs).  Please note cards are not accepted in the PYO fields.

Leapers Rock Orchard

Leapers Rock Orchard is free entry and you only pay for what you pick.  Their season will start mid-June.

The farm has a tea room and a shop selling cider, fresh apple juice, ice cream etc.
