Win Tickets To See ‘Scary Fairy Saves Christmas’ At The Lowry!

On 5th December 2018, BBC Radio 2 Friday Night is Music Night will be taking over the Lowry Theatre with an evening packed with festive music performed by the amazing Philharmonic and acclaimed singer Curtis Stigers.

The performance also features the highly anticipated world premiere of the latest instalment in Craig Charles’ series of fairy tales.

We have a family ticket for 4 to giveaway!

Scary Fairy Saves Christmas

Master storyteller Craig Charles (Red Dwarf, Robot Wars, Coronation Street) presents another wonderfully enchanted wintry tale for all the family in this musical treat guaranteed to kick-start the festive season.

In conjunction with composer Iain Farrington (Horrible Histories, Wallace and Gromit and 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony) Scary Fairies features a larger than life cinematic score as Craig presents the third instalment of his modern day series of fables.

This latest instalment takes you on a whirlwind adventure full of humour and childhood nostalgia with many twists and turns, reflecting the world in which we live in today and tackling modern day taboos with Craig Charles’ usual razor sharp wit.

Angelica Bell is your host for the evening and joins the BBC Philharmonic and conductor Clark Rundell for a programme which also includes a selection of wintry delights.

In the first part of the concert Curtis Stigers meets the orchestra for the very first time with a selection of his own hits including I Wonder Why and Never Saw A Miracle, combined with festive classics such as Let It Snow and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

The concert is to be recorded for future broadcast in BBC Radio 1’s Friday Night is Music Night on Friday 7th December at 8pm.
