Grooming & Sex Abuse Investigation at Bury Parks

It has been revealed that two parks in Bury, Clarence Park and Openshaw Park, are at the centre of a child grooming and sex abuse investigation.

This is an ongoing investigation from June 2017 but have just now made the information public. The investigation involves the Phoenix CSE team, which was set up to disrupt offenders engaged in child sexual exploitation, raise awareness and protect and provide support for victims.

There have been a number of arrests and the nine children already identified as potential victims are receiving specialist support.  Police are appealing for victims to come forward.  Anyone with information should contact the Bury Phoenix team on 0161 856 8002 or 101.  Reports can be made anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

If anyone is looking for further help in identifying and spotting the signs of child sexual exploitation, and what to do about it, further information can be found at www.itsnotokay.co.uk
